How it started

Lone Tael began in Sydney with one simple mission: to find a meaningful, well-crafted gift for a dear friend. When nothing felt quite right, I decided to make it myself. What started as a personal project turned into something a bit bigger, a small business rooted in heritage and meaningful, quality design.

What lone tael stands for

Lone Tael is about finding beauty in the in-between, where cultural heritage and modern design meet.

Inspired by my Australian-Chinese roots, the pieces blend subtle symbolism and timeless stories into pieces you can actually wear every day. They carry meaning without feeling heavy, letting you showcase, or even just appreciate heritage, in a way that still feels like you. Each piece keeps things understated and contemporary, with a quiet nod to the past.

Why the Name

The name Lone Tael comes from the tael - an old Chinese weight used to measure silver, roughly 37.5 grams. It’s a small reminder of value, history, and craft. With subtle nods to Australian-Chinese roots, it's all about creating pieces that carry meaning but still feel easy to wear. They’re made for anyone, no matter your background or style.

How It's Made

All of the jewellery is crafted from 100% premium recycled sterling silver by skilled artisans in Bali. We work with people who care about the process as much as we do, ensuring each piece is made with precision, intention, and heart.

What's next

I'm just starting out small with the aim to expand the range as I grow the brand (yes, more zodiac signs and sizes are on their way). This is a brand new exploration of creativity and business for me, so follow along for the ride!
